Looking for Home in Hawaiian Paradise

After getting transferred from Maryland to Honolulu, naval officer, Jim, and his wife, Rachel, want to buy their first home. Even though they have a sizable budget of $550,000, it's still below the Honolulu median home price. Still, Rachel wants a big plantation style home with a view, a big kitchen, a fenced in yard, and a location close to the beach. Jim just wants to be close to his base in Pearl Harbor. Will these Honolulu newbies be able navigate the competitive Hawaiian market?
