Ready to leave the city life behind, Charles and Jay are moving from San Francisco to the more suburban Oakland Hills. They insist on a mid-century modern home, and a view of San Francisco Bay. But that's the easy part. In an area where hillside homes abound, Charles and Jay insist on an earthquake-safe house that isn't built on stilts.
