Moving to the Illinois Suburbs

Ewa and Patty enjoyed city living in Boston while he was pursuing his MBA. They recently became parents and have decided to make the transition to a more traditional suburban lifestyle near Patty's family, in Buffalo Grove, IL. Until they find a home, they're living with Patty's parents, which has presented its own set of challenges. So they'd like to buy a home as soon as possible. However, this is proving to be more difficult than they expected because they want a home with lots of value and with a low price. How much are the Tams willing to sacrifice?
