May 23, 2023

Goodbyes can be hard, but we're saying hello to a whole new comprehensive streaming app that has not just all the HBO classics we love, but our favorite HGTV shows, too. Enter Max. According to the Max website, the new app has smarter recommendations, improved performance and new hubs and genres.

How Do I Get Access?

The good news is current HBO Max subscribers already have access to Max. HBO Max profiles, watch history and settings (including parental controls) will transfer over. For detailed instructions on how to log on to Max or download it, visit the Max help page.

What's on Max?

With Max, we're able to stream everything that was on HBO Max and more — for the same price. It holds Discovery's entire brand index: HGTV, the Food Network, TLC, Magnolia Network and more. It also includes Max Originals, select series and movies from Warner Bros., the DC Universe, Cartoon Network, the Turner Library, Looney Tunes, Adult Swim and more.

How to Find Your HGTV Faves

HGTV — along with all the other Discovery brands — has a dedicated landing page where all our shows live. Once you've logged onto Max, scroll down the home page until you see the "Brand Spotlight" banner. Click the HGTV logo and start streaming.
