Fabulous Basement Family Room

Jeannine and Patrick have lived in their large home for more than five years. They have decorated the main rooms, but neglected the basement family room. It's so bad they won't even allow guests to descend the stairs! They want an elegant but family-friendly room that'll allow plenty of play space for their two young sons as well as space for entertaining and TV viewing and a little left over for displaying their book collection. It's a big job, but designer Candice Olson is ready to tackle the challenge.
