Homeowners Michael and Colleen Sparks are tired of their hodge-podge bedroom. With mismatched furniture pieces from the '50s and '70s and a clunky homemade headboard, their room’s style is far from the romantic space they dream of. After reducing the scale of the headboard, adding a coat of fresh paint to the walls and displaying the tropical accessories that they already own, designer Karen McAloon, painter Danielle Hirsch and contractor Ian Read help this couple remix the bland space to create a bedroom with romantic style that feels like a hot, tropical night.
