These Are the HGTV Experts You'll See in Brian and Mika's '100 Day Hotel Challenge'

Good news for lovers of Brian and Mika's 100-day challenges: More HGTV talent is joining the party.

Our Favorite 100 Day Dream Home hosts, Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt, are an actual dream team. They've snagged an HGTV competition crown not just once (Season 2 of Rock the Block, anyone?) but twice (see: Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge). Now, we're putting this competitive duo on opposing teams for a beachside battle of the ages: 100 Day Hotel Challenge.

During the new series, Mika and Brian will work to turn tired waterside motels, located on North Carolina’s Crystal Coast, into prime vacation properties with just $225,000 and a three-month time frame — but they don't have to do it alone. They'll each be leading their own crew of HGTV renovation and design experts. You'll likely recognize many of these stars, but we're giving you a deep dive into their expertise, exactly which shows you know them from and their roles in 100 Day Hotel Challenge.

Brian and his carefully crafted team will be renovating a beachside motel which was unluckily struck by a hurricane in 2018. Together, they will turn the place into a charming vacation destination. Brian's team includes Bryan and Sarah Baeumler (Battle on the Beach), Michel Smith Boyd (Luxe for Less), Mike and Denese Butler (Fix My Frankenhouse), Carmeon Hamilton (Reno My Rental), Cristy Lee (Battle on the Mountain) and Poonam Moore (Rico to the Rescue).

To get it all done on time, each HGTV expert will take on different parts of the reno. Here’s how Team Salter Path Inn is breaking it down.

Bryan and Sarah, married since 2004, know what’s up when it comes to making major renovations for marvelous vacations. The couple hosted Renovation Island, where they fully revamped an abandoned tropical resort into a luxurious, eco-friendly getaway. The duo also hosts and judges another iconic beach competition show: Battle on the Beach. “I think we can provide Brian some insight on the little things,” Sarah said. Success lies in the details.

Team captain Brian labeled them “king and queen of the hospitality business." They'll be assisting him with the renovation and design of all the bedrooms in the hotel.

Creative-mind Carmeon is an interior designer and social media influencer who you may recognize as the spunky host of Reno My Rental — a role she earned after winning the competitive show Design Star: Next Gen.

Carmeon is a pro when it comes to finding simple, realistic and affordable ways to upgrade the style and function of any space. She will be assisting Brian with optimizing and beautifying the kitchenette spaces. Carmeon was made for this!

Also joining Brian’s dream team: Cristy and Poonam. Cristy is the host of HGTV’s series Steal This House. She specializes in transforming hopeless properties into beautiful homes. Her partner, Poonam, is the design expert on Rico to the Rescue and owns her own interior design business.

Cristy and Poonam will fuse their savvy skills to create a luxury suite fit to make any visitor feel like royalty.

Every beachside getaway needs a well-developed outdoor area. Enter Denese and Mike. These married business partners are experts at modernizing quirky and outdated spaces.

You may recognize them as the hosts of Fix My Frankenhouse, where they doctor-up homes with wonky layouts. They've got this!

Magnetic Michel knows a thing about deluxe detail. As the host of Luxe For Less, Michel is no stranger to creating sleek and elegant renovations on a budget. Case in point: Michel and fellow Luxe For Less creative Anthony Elle won Season 4 of Rock the Block thanks to their ultra-chic bachelor pad creation.

Michel joins Brian’s team to upgrade the lobby of Salter Path Inn into a beautiful entryway. First impressions matter, and Michel is on it.

Who's Competing: Team Mika

Enough about Team Brian — his ultra-competitive wife Mika has also assembled a powerful team of her own to assist in the renovation of an old fishing retreat called William & Garland.

The motel opened in the 1950s as a four-room fishing shack and is now in dire need of an update. Mika is trusting Galey Alix (Home in a Heartbeat), Jonathan Knight and Kristina Crestin (Farmhouse Fixer), Lauren Makk (Design Star: Next Gen), Scott McGillivray (Vacation House Rules), Grace Mitchell (One of a Kind), Kim Myles (Battle on the Mountain) and Kim Wolfe (Why the Heck Did I Buy This House?) to help her get it done. Similar to Brian’s team, everyone will play to their renovation strengths. Let’s see who’s handling what.

Host of Home in a Heartbeat, busy Galey is a Wall Street executive and DIY expert who executes incredible (and fast!) transformations that glow-up otherwise mediocre homes.

Galey will be responsible for renovating the lobby of the historic hotel, as well as keeping her eye on the overall budget and the 100-day time crunch she and her team face. This jack of trades has it handled.

Grace Mitchell

Grace has major skill when it comes to designing imaginative and stylish spaces. She owns her own interior design business in Fort Worth, Texas, and stars in One of a Kind — where she transforms impersonal houses into unique and personal homes.

Grace is joining Mika’s team to develop the kitchenette area and turn it into a funky-yet-functional space that pays homage to its history.

Jon and Kristina are known for churning-out incredible afters of previously rundown properties in Farmhouse Fixer. Jon is a musician in boy band New Kids On The Block and a home renovator. His latest (stellar) project can be seen on Farmhouse Fixer: Camp Revamp. His friend and business partner, Kristina, owns her own interior design business and executes the style and design ideas in all of their projects.

The two have worked together for years and despite Jon calling the outdated motel a “hot mess,” surely they will combine their skills to assist Mika in creating lovely bedrooms in the hotel.

Kim Wolfe and Kim Myles

Kim Wolfe is seen saving the day in Why The Heck Did I Buy This House? by remodeling lifeless spaces for unhappy homeowners. Kim Myles is an Emmy-winning designer and entrepreneur who hosts HGTV’s Myles of Style and Battle of the Bling. The two have merged their skills before, as seen in Battle on the Mountain where they became mentors for teams of up-and-coming renovators eager to remodel rundown homes in the mountains.

The Kims will be applying their own wisdom to Mika’s project while designing the luxury suite in the waterside hotel (which desperately needs some glam).

Lauren Makk and Scott McGillivray

Thrifty Lauren is not only a social-media star but a DIY pro. You may recognize her as one of the key creative geniuses behind HGTV's Urban Oasis. Lauren is partnering up with Scott, an HGTV icon who most recently hosts Vacation House Rules. Scott is a real estate expert, entrepreneur and contractor. Of course, he knows how to get the job done.

Together, Scott and Lauren will turn the outdoor lounge into a paradisiacal spot for visitors to decompress and enjoy year round.

How to Watch 100 Day Hotel Challenge

Which team will win? We're putting the seasoned Property Brothers, Drew and Jonathan Scott, in charge of that decision. While team captains Brian and Mika will do their best to keep it friendly, this battle gets intense. “The only person more competitive than me is Brian," Mika said.

Watch all the stars compete in 100 Day Hotel Challenge on HGTV: Tune in Tuesday nights at 8|7c beginning August 13 — or stream on Max starting the same day and time. On September 17 at 8|7c, catch the finale and find out who will be crowned the winner of 100 Day Hotel Challenge.

Stay up to date with the competition at HGTV.com and via #100DayHotelChallenge and @HGTV on Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok and Threads. Fans also can interact with Brian and Mika on Instagram at @mrbreakinground and @mikamakesmoves.
