Designed for homeowners who wanted a secluded lap pool and outdoor living space for exercising, reading, meditating or getting a massage, this resort-like backyard includes a folly which is an open-air structure fabricated and carved from solid reclaimed teak. Designed to meet strict California seismic requirements, the structure was fabricated by Balinese craftsmen and shipped, in pieces, back to the site for assembly. The pyramid roof is finished with copper fish-tail shingles and teak steps lead down to the pool. 

Hand-carved Balinese ornamental corbels highlight the 14" square solid teak corner posts that frame the folly's entrance. 

At the end of the lap pool, the folly offers a welcoming lounge area where the homeowners and their guests can relax by a custom fire pit by bronze sculptor Elena Colombo. 

Kentia and queen palms, eucalyptus trees and giant birds of paradise border a 10' wide x 90' long lap pool that serves as both a fountain and reflecting pool with the Santa Ynez mountains looming as a focal point in the distance.
