The owner of StoneWood Design, Janice Stone Thomas has been designing interiors for more than 20 years.

Focused exclusively on residential projects, she works with clients on interior specifications and furnishings for new construction and on design for remodels.

For the past five years, she has donated many hours to the Sacramento Junior League to present the Decorator's Showcase, raising funds for programs that benefit women and children at risk.

Thomas earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Newcomb College of Tulane University in New Orleans, and received an AA in interior design from American River College.

She is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and a Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD) - a distinction awarded by the National Kitchen and Bath Association.  She is also a Certified Interior Designer (CID), and received the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) in 1984-the result of rigorous testing and the industry's highest degree of credentialing.

Since 1988, she has held a California contractor's license in the general "B" category.

Thomas's education in art and art history imparts a unique dimension to the services her firm provides, adding an element of aesthetics and taking design to a higher level.
