Peter Coffin currently serves as a Corporator for the Ridgefield Bank, and Incorporator for the Ridgefield Community Center and Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association, Board Chair of the Building Code Board of Appeals for the Town of Ridgefield, a Member of the Ridgefield Rotary Club, past Member of Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association Board, current Vice Chairman of the Soccer Club of Ridgefield Board and is Chairman of the Board of the Ridgefield Library. He is a member of the AIA, National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and is a licensed Interior Designer.

Doyle Coffin Architecture has been providing exceptional architectural design to residential, commercial, religious and municipal clients throughout Fairfield County, New York and Greater New England for more than forty years.  We are based in Ridgefield, Connecticut with two partners and an overall staff of eleven, including the firm’s founding partner, David D. Coffin.

Our highly trained staff has extensive experience in working effectively with planning and zoning departments and other municipal organizations to obtain required approvals and ensure a smooth process throughout project development.

Recent residential work includes large and livable custom designed new residences as well as harmonious additions and renovations to existing homes. We have been consistently recognized in the community for our work with the transformation and renovation of historic New England houses.  Our expertise in interpreting stylistic period designs results in architectural plans that produce beautifully restored historic structures.

Our portfolio also illustrates the significant experience we have in the architectural design of places of worship and the facilities needed to support the daily life of a spiritual organization. We have created spacious and inspiring spiritual structures as well as contextually blended additions and renovations to existing church facilities.  Our extensive work in the commercial and municipal arenas includes modern, large-scale medical and bank facilities as well as community recreational and meeting facilities.

Doyle Coffin is well versed in the areas of sustainable design, applying innovative techniques and materials in order to meet the critical objectives of “green” building.  The firm seeks to create original designs that minimize the carbon footprint resulting from construction and create environmentally sound systems for the duration of the life of the facility.  We work collaboratively with our clients to employ renewable and reusable resources that will help improve quality of life over time.
