Swaringen took the clients' love of streamlined traditional and translated it into white subway tile, a laminate-topped worktable (can you believe it's not marble?) and tons of hands-on counter space.

The original kitchen was pretty enough, but with the small island and limited countertop space, it needed a functional upgrade.

The upholstered bench and modern Chippendale chairs are a fresh take on seating.
