Meg Caswell visits a historic Hyde Park neighborhood to remodel the kitchen and living room of a family that want a contemporary space with storage for their art collection and wine, dark wood cabinets, white countertops, and orange tangerine walls.
Designer Maria Toczylowski blends contemporary and traditional styles with a touch of rustic charm to create comfortable, family-friendly living and dining rooms.
This formal living room was separated into two distinct spaces: one a bit more formal for entertaining, and the other providing a more casual atmosphere for relaxing. To maximize the budget, many of the homeowners' existing pieces were repurposed in the space.
The living room showcases locally sourced furnishings and art and offers breathtaking views of Boston's Public Garden, Beacon Street and Charles River.
