How to Make a Glittery Christmas Banner
Materials Needed:
- cardboard Christmas banner
- school glue
- 1" artist brush
- German glass glitter
- plastic container
- spoon
- wax paper
- hemp twine
Prepare Letters
Remove pre-strung letters from ribbon. Chipboard letters with holes punched in the top will work for this project as well.
Apply Glue
Use a 1" artist brush to liberally apply school glue to entire front of letter. Make sure to coat the entire sides as well. Work in sections, if necessary.
Sprinkle Glitter
Pour glitter into container and use a spoon to sprinkle over letter. Apply more glue and repeat on areas where glitter did not adhere. Set finished letter on wax paper and allow to dry. Tip: German glass glitter was used for this project, and it can be found in specialty shops online. Craft glitter is less expensive, more readily available and is a suitable substitute.
String Letters
Once dry, string letters onto hemp twine (Image 1). Loop twine on each end to hang (Image 2).
Hang Banner
Hang the banner anywhere you need a dose of glam holiday cheer!
